About Us

The West Africa Unique Identification for Regional Integration and Inclusion (WURI) programme has proposed core identification systems (fIDs) that will provide unique identification of individuals and government-recognised fID credentials, without connotation of legal status, which the public and private sectors can then rely on for transactions and service delivery. Typically, functional identification systems integrate or are linked to civil registration systems and interoperate with sectoral systems (e.g. social protection, health, education, financial services, population or travel).
